The public-private partnership that Fitch launched in the 2014-13 school year has now reached more than 19,000 students, building on the success that the Community Foundation enjoyed in the 2013-14 school year.

That effort increased participating students financial awareness by more than 40 percent.

Fitch also touted the Mississippi Affordable College Savings Plan and the MPACT college savings program, both 529 programs, which provide tax incentives and allow parents to save money for childrens college education.

All studies show that if you invest in a child, they are seven times more likely to further their education, Fitch said.
